Three locations, Liberty Station, Pacific Beach, Hillcrest. I like this cute little rustic restaurant, they have an extensive menu with all of the breakfast favorites, and a few unique items, too. YOU have to order this for the table! Located in Downtown San Diego. This cute little Downtown breakfast restaurant has egg scrambles, waffles, and other favorites, but they are known for their stuffed peanut butter banana french toast. I say that The Mission french toast is a must-try dish, it is huge and delicious! Three locations, Mission Beach, East Village, and North Park. The Mission is one of my go-to best breakfast spots in San Diego, I love their fresh fare! There is a whole gluten-free menu here, which is awesome, and they also have a lot of good Mexican breakfast items, the chilaquiles are really good. The breakfast menu boasts omelets, classic egg dishes, and a griddle menu with sweets to die for – just say YES to the lemon ricotta pancakes! Located in La Jolla, CA. In the heart of La Jolla, you can find delicious coastal fare at The Cottage! Their passion is to serve tasty, classic American & Southern California influenced food. Seven locations, North Park, Encinitas, Pacific Beach, East Village, Ocean Beach, Carmel Valley, and Liberty Station. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are available, I had the chilaquiles and my kids tried a pancake flight. This is a unique California-inspired restaurant with the chicken and the egg as the center of the menu. Three locations, La Jolla, Hillcrest, and Del Mar 2. I love love LOVE this place, and my kids do, too! Enjoy the swanky orange retro decor, play a few board games, order from the full bar, and choose from creative breakfast dishes like egg dishes, benedicts, unique pancake creations (some of the best pancakes in San Diego), and tons more – their gluten-free pancakes are the best I’ve had. San Diego is known as America’s Finest City, and for good reason. Hopefully this was just a one-off bad day. Our eggs were slightly overcooked and we waited quite a long time for our food to arrive. Overall, we had a decent meal here, though it wasn’t quite as good as our previous visits. It’s unfortunate because we just recommended the eggs benedict here to some friends recently, and then we experience our first overcooked poached eggs. I should have taken a photo of the cross section but we were in a rush and our food had taken quite a while to arrive. ![]() Again, the egg was overcooked here as well. The Bella consists of thin slices of prosciutto, Taleggio cheese, poached egg on toasted ciabatta, topped with cream cheese hollandaise, balsamic glaze and arugula. Still, I enjoyed the pulled pork and sauced tortilla base. While not completely cooked, the yolk was not runny at all. The egg was a little overcooked on this visit. The Chile Verde consists a stack of green chile sauced tortillas, slow cooked pulled pork, poached egg and green chili hollandaise, pico de gallo and cotija cheese. K chose two different eggs benedict preparations. While it’s not stated anywhere on the menu, Snooze allows you to mix and match, so Mr. K loves hollandaise sauce but I’m far too lazy to make my own, so he always looks forward to ordering it here. We really enjoy the eggs benedict at Snooze. I’d recommend ordering something salty on the side.Ĭhile Verde Benny and Bella! Bella! Benny Yes these are quite sweet and can easily be substituted as a dessert, but they are delicious. Also the pancakes here are cooked perfectly: fluffy round cakes with crisp edges. I love the variety and unique combinations. ![]() ![]() But I can’t get away from the pancake flight. Pancake Flight (strawberry shortcake, blueberry danish, candy apple)Įvery time I come here, I vow I’m going to try something new. The Del Mar location is a little less congested and we were able to get a table within 15 minutes. The original San Diego location (Hillcrest) is so popular that wait times are 1+ hours on weekends, so we never visit there anymore. Snooze AM Eatery is one of our favorite brunch spots in San Diego and we recently stopped in for a late morning brunch, after craving it for some time. ![]()
